  • User Description: A brand new roguelike game Dome Keeper envisions Terraria meets Aliens in a tower defense game that combines underground mining escapades with turret blasting, a style that is reminiscent of the arcade classic Missile Command. Dome Keeper just released a demo on Steam prior to the upcoming Steam Next Fest 2022 event, so you can check it out yourself and delve deep underground to find the resources desired to defend your dome from the dangerous denizens descending upon you. Dome Keeper puts the player in a dome above the surface of an unfriendly planet. ADDICT GAMING Each run, you must plunge into the depths below, digging out an area in search of precious materials used for upgrades. The terrain is divided into square blocks that are familiar to crafting game veterans Mining is as easy as crashing into them enough times to break them. Mining becomes more difficult and slower the further you go. You should upgrade your equipment before you get too far. Similar to Minecraft and Terraria Resources are typically tightly grouped and if you notice a glimmer along your tunnel, digging deeper will usually reveal more valuable materials ready to be gathered. After the resources are mined then they have to be manually moved to the dome for storage and for use. This is done by holding a button to tether resources to your suit and the more you drag behind you the slower you'll go, and eventually totally immobile until you drop a few chunks on the ground. Once you have your base resources, you can feed them into upgrades for your jetpack or drill. This will allow for faster mining and traversal with less impact on your manoeuvrability. In addition, you can upgrade your dome, which feeds into the second (and possibly the most important aspect) of Dome Keeper - defending your base from massive alien beasts. Tower defense is handled by a laser which can be rotated around your dome in any direction to attack any direction. You can detect any direct threats or attacks to your dome via the tunnels below, which means you will know when it's time to get back up and clean up. Upgrades to your dome will display important information such as the time until the next attack and the health status of your dome. Dome Keeper currently offers two difficulty levels with the default "brutal" setting and a slightly more intimidating 'hard but manageable' option. It's quite punishing initially, and the booming sound from the surface will cause you to panic. You can now play the demo on Steam. We'll keep your informed about any standout new PC games that are coming to Steam Next Fest. In other news that is crafty one user's Lego Terraria build is tackling bosses and underground mining scenes. We've also got all the information regarding the Minecraft 1.19 The Wild update as well as news of a possible Minecraft RTS game from the developers of Minecraft Dungeons.
